The Municipal Government Act (MGA) requires a municipality to adopt a bylaw to establish a Municipal Development Authority; and Council may, by bylaw, establish a Municipal Planning Commission.
A Municipal Planning Commission (MPC) is authorized to make decisions on applications for development approval.
