A Certificate of Compliance from the County of Northern Lights is a document confirming that the developments on your property align with Land Use Bylaw requirements. A certificate of Compliance is most often requested by financial and legal institutions. It's important to note that the County does not inspect the property itself, but rather certifies only the improvements listed on your Real Property Report.
To obtain a Certificate of Compliance, please contact the County office. You'll need to provide the following information when applying;
Two copies of a Real Estate Property Report prepared by an accredited Land Surveyor conducted on the subject parcel within 6 months from the date of the request
A current Certificate of Title of the parcel
A Statutory Declaration of the current land use of the parcel
Applicable fees, as per the Schedule of Fees Bylaw
Certificate of Compliance Fees
Applicable fees to obtain a Certificate of Compliance are outlined in the Schedule of Fees Bylaw. Currently, the fees are
- Regular certificate: $55
- With variance or Non-Compliance: $100
Payment can be made via:
- In-person at the County office with cash, cheque, debit/credit
- Over the phone with a credit card
