The County of Northern Lights is looking for high-quality photographs to be featured in the County Calendar! Each selected photo will be awarded $50, to a maximum of $200 per entrant, and will be featured in the County’s annual calendar, social media, and marketing promotions.
Annual Photo Contest Rules, Terms and Conditions
Entrant Eligibility and Prize Disbursement
- The photo contest is open to individuals of all ages and amateur photographers.
- Contest entrants must complete a Photo Contest Entry and Waiver Form.
- Each photo selected for the calendar will receive $50, up to a maximum of $200.
- Prizes must be accepted as awarded.
- Selected winners will be mailed one calendar.
- Winners will be notified via the email address provided upon entering.
- County of Northern Lights staff, council, or immediate family members cannot receive prize money.
- If the contest cannot be conducted as planned, the County of Northern Lights reserves the right to cancel, modify, suspend, or terminate the contest without notice.
Photo Requirements
- Entrants can enter up to 10 photos into the contest. However, only up to 4 photos may be selected for the annual calendar and receive prize money.
- Each photo submitted must have completed details in the Photo Contest Entry and Waiver Form.
- Photos must not contain a watermark.
- Vintage photos of the County will be accepted.
- For optimal printing, photos must be in high-quality JPEG or PNG format, preferably in a Landscape (horizontal) orientation and at least 300 dpi.
- Photos must be within the County of Northern Lights and the location listed in the photo details on the Photo Contest Entry and Waiver Form. GPS coordinates, rural addresses or legal land descriptions are accepted.
- Photos considered inappropriate for public viewing will not be accepted.
- Photographs with identifiable subjects, such as people or businesses, must include a General Authorization and Release Form signed by the identifiable subject or business owner in the photo.
- Photos with incomplete General Authorization and Release forms will be disqualified.
- All submitted entries become the property of the County of Northern Lights. The County of Northern Lights reserves the right to use the photographs in printed materials promoting the County of Northern Lights and area without paying compensation to the photographer or the subjects.
