Manning, Alta. - Graduation season is an exciting milestone for students, families, and school communities across Alberta. As celebrations and year-end activities begin, the Manning RCMP is encouraging youth to make safe and responsible choices while enjoying grad events and gatherings.
Planning ahead, looking out for friends, and making smart decisions can help ensure everyone gets home safely.
The Manning RCMP reminds students and families to:
- Never drive impaired or get into a vehicle with an impaired driver.
- Plan for a safe ride home before attending celebrations.
- Be mindful of social media posts and online activity.
- Respect school property, community spaces, and local bylaws.
Parents and caregivers are encouraged to have open conversations with youth about safety expectations, peer pressure, and the importance of looking out for one another during graduation celebrations.
“Graduation is a time to recognize hard work, perseverance, and achievement, and we want these celebrations to create lasting, positive memories. As the festivities take place, we encourage everyone to make responsible decisions and prioritize safety. Planning ahead, arranging for safe transportation, and look out for one another can help ensure that celebrations remain positive and memorable for the right reasons. On behalf of our members and staff of the Manning RCMP detachment, congratulations to the graduating class of 2026. We wish you every success as you begin the next chapter of your lives.” – Cpl.
