On June 19, 2025, the Government of Alberta released an Agricultural Moisture Situation update. Some key points in the release include
- More areas of the province have had lower levels of precipitation relative to the long-term normal. (Map 5 in the release)
- Areas of the province are experiencing very low 365-day precipitation accumulations, which are once in 12- to 25-year lows.
- Small pockets of the province have extremely low precipitation accumulations, with once in 25 to 50-year lows.
- Soil moisture reserves across the province are estimated to be moderately low (once in 3 to 6 year lows) to low (once in 6 to 12 years lows). (Map 7)
- Soils across most of Alberta are estimated to be 25 to 50 mm below normal.
The 365-day precipitation accumulation ranges for most of the County range from moderately low to very low (map 5).
