In the early morning hours of January 17, 2026, Manning RCMP were called to service to attend a Break and Enter to an oilfield site near Keg River. Through a victim statement, and CCTV footage, it was discovered a male and female in a unique-looking pickup truck had stolen many items from the site including totes of site-specific tools, power tools, and welding materials with a value of over $5000. Through community inquiries members of the Manning RCMP came upon the described vehicle on the road and the two occupants were identified, arrested, and held for judicial interim remand hearings. Both parties were eventually released with conditions by the courts. A search warrant was later granted on the vehicle and Manning RCMP found all of the items listed as stolen and returned them to their rightful owners.
Bonnie Casselton, 40, and Larry Morrison, 48, were both charged with: Break and Enter, Theft Over $5000, Mischief Over $5000, Possession of Break-In Instruments, Disguised with Intent to Commit Offence, and Possession of Methamphetamine. Casselton also received 2 extra charges of Failing to Comply With Release Order Conditions from a separate, previous matter.
