To the various stakeholders of the Deadwood/ Hutton Creek area,
Subject: Prescribed burning at Hutton Creek

On behalf of Peace River Forestry, I am writing to inform you of an upcoming prescribed burn project taking place in the Hutton Creek area. This project is headed by the Government of Alberta and supported by the Alberta Conservation Association to enhance ungulate habitat along the Peace River.

The date of the burn is dependent on environmental conditions, and as such does not have a definitive timeframe at present but is planned for the spring of 2025.
We invite all community members who want to learn more about the project to join team leads and experts at an in-person open house, taking place on February 26, 2025, at the Deadwood Community Hall from 6:00pm-9:00pm.

We greatly look forward to further discussion.
Sincerely,
Tannis McNabb
