Here are your highlights from the June 9, 2026 Council meeting
Policies and Bylaws
- Adopted Schedule of Fees Bylaw (Bylaw #26-12-510)
- Adopted Access to Information and Protection of Privacy Bylaw (Bylaw #26-12-509)
- Adopted Privacy Management Program Policy
- Adopted Occupational Health and Safety Program Policy
Updated policies and bylaws will be available on the County website in the coming days
Community Initiatives, Engagement, and Advocacy
- Increased Library funding per household rate to $50 for libraries in support communities and $100 for libraries located in the County, taking effect January 2027
- Deputy Reeve Kayln Schug will attend the Indigenous Peoples’ Day celebration in Manning on June 13 and deliver greetings on behalf of the County
- Reeve Terry Ungarian, Deputy Reeve Kayln Schug, Councillors Gary These and Brenda Yasinski will attend the RhPAP Conference in Peace River this coming fall
- Councillors Gloria Dechant and Linda Halabisky will be attending the ‘Stronger Together’ Libraries conference in Edmonton this coming fall
- Chris Nel attended as a delegation with questions and concerns regarding the proposed Peace River Nuclear Power Project. The Administration will provide a written reply to Mr. Nel regarding his questions and concerns
