Answer the Call: Be a Volunteer Firefighter!

Are you ready to respond?  Are you reasonably physically fit, team-oriented, and looking to make a difference in your community? Are you committed to maintaining and developing your skills? Do you possess a valid driver's license, and can you provide the person at risk and criminal/background checks? Can you think on your feet to solve problems, react flexibly and use your initiative? Do you have the sensitivity and professionalism to deal with members of the public in difficult and emotional situations? Do you have time to dedicate to weekly training and can be called out from your day-to-day tasks to respond to the unexpected? Training is available for everyone to any level they choose.  Compensation for services and remuneration for eligible travel and training is provided.

The County of Northern Lights is looking for citizens to respond to the call to be Volunteer Fire Fighters.  Departments are actively recruiting, there is also a Junior Program available for ages 16-17.
