At the May 13 council meeting, the County of Northern Lights Council reviewed Community Capital Assistance Program (CCAP) grant applications for 2025.
The County's CCAP grant is open to registered not-for-profits, cemeteries, societies, and libraries who are planning on purchasing, upgrading, constructing, or renovating a recreational or cultural facility in the County, or in the support communities of the Towns of Grimshaw, Manning and Peace River.
Project Cost and Funding Requests must be greater than $10,000.00 to be considered. The maximum amount available through this program is $50,000.00. Projects taking place in Grimshaw, Manning, and Peace River can apply for Funding Requests for no greater than $12,500.00.
Since 2010, 52 capital projects have been funded through the CCAP grant program.
7 applications were received this year, with funding requests totalling $94,350.00 and total project cost from all projects totalling $162,262.01.
After careful deliberation, the Council motioned to provide funds to the following organizations:
- Dixonville Life Ag Society
- $7,500 Community Hall Sewer/Water Line Repairs
- Weberville Community Club
- $10,000 Community Hall Furnace Replacement
- Manning & District Ski Club
- $5,000 Lift Repairs & Maintenance
- Lac Cardinal Recreation Association
- $11,000 Hall Sewer Line Repairs & Parking Lot Maintenance
- Battle River Ag Society
- $11,500 Pavilion Roof Repairs
- Peace Playland Association
- $5,000 Centre Repairs and Renos (unaffixed assets)
