Peace Regional Inmate Release Advocacy Request

The Town of Peace River is asking for regional support from neighbouring residents and business owners to bring awareness to the Provincial government regarding the issues arising from current Peace River Correctional Facility inmate release practices.

Currently, inmates are being released in downtown Peace River without means to access essential needs, and without transportation out of town. This has had a significant impact on their community and is creating issues for residents and business owners.

The Town of Peace River is working hard to try and address these issues in a meaningful manner but has faced challenges as a result of the number of inmates being released into the downtown core on a regular basis.

The Town of Peace River is asking those who wish to support their advocacy efforts to sign a pre-written form letter and return it to the Town of Peace River CAO by September 25.
