Intermunicipal Development Plan

The County of Northern Lights is working with the Municipal District of Peace, the Town of Manning and the Town of Peace River to develop Intermunicipal Development Plans between each municipality. Basic information about the plans and process can be found here: IDP Informational Brochure.

An IDP is a plan developed jointly by 2 or more neighbouring municipalities to manage decision-making for an area of land in close proximity to the shared boundary.  The IDP is a mandatory statutory plan required by the Municipal Government Act (MGA).  It is meant to enhance regional cooperation and collaboration by helping to facilitate efficient and compatible land development.
