The Finance Department of the County of Northern Lights provides the financial management and oversight functions for the County in accordance with generally accepted Canadian accounting principles.
Finance Department responsibilities:
- Preparing the County’s annual budget for approval by Council
- Monitoring budget disposition and providing timely and accurate reporting to Council and other pertinent stakeholders
- Collecting of property taxes based on the annual tax levy as well as other fees associated with the provision of services
- Supporting other County departments in areas relating to information technology, contract administration, payroll, human resources, risk management, etc.
